Detail

The Fuwei Automatic Container Number Recognition System consists of a container body trigger and monitoring unit, a container number imaging unit, and a container number image recognition unit. Upon receiving a trigger signal from the container body, the imaging unit captures an image of the container number and transmits it to the recognition unit, which then identifies both the container number and the container type.

Container Number Automatic Recognition System Performance

1.Powered by dynamic vehicle positioning technology, the cameras can capture a minimum of four separate snapshots featuring container codes as trucks pass through the lane.

2.Supplemental fill-in lighting is equipped to compensate insufficient ambient light on site.

3.Compliant with the Chinese national standard GB/T1836-1997 for container marking codes; compatible with all common code printing layouts: single-line, double-line, triple-line, four-line, single-column and double-column formats. It supports all container specifications including 20ft, 40ft, standard dry van, reefer, high-cube and overlength containers.

4.Rated for a maximum vehicle passing speed of 15 km/h. No restrictions on the quantity or placement of containers loaded on chassis. The system automatically counts loaded containers and identifies respective container codes for each unit.

5.Capable of identifying container types and distinguishing between single-container and tandem dual-container loading configurations.

Performance of Automatic Container Code Recognition System

1.Complies with GB/T1836-1997 for container marking identification and supports all printing layouts of container codes, including single-line, double-line, triple-line, single-column and double-column formats.

2.Compatible with all container types: 20ft, 40ft, 48ft, standard dry van, reefer, high cube, overlength and flat rack containers.

3.Maximum allowable vehicle passing speed: 15 km/h.

4.No special requirements for haulage trucks; supports single-container or dual-container loading per chassis. The system automatically counts loaded containers, distinguishes one long container from two short containers, and recognizes the respective container numbers individually.

5.Processed data is output via TCP/IP protocol for secondary development and system integration.

6.Historical processing records are available for inquiry.

7.Captured color snapshots adopt a resolution of 2048×1536; the image compression ratio is configurable.

8.Cameras feature fast response: shutter speed<30 ms and full image transmission finished within 500 ms.

9.Supports uninterrupted 24/7 operation and adapts to complicated site conditions such as insufficient ambient light and headlight interference.

10.Under normal weather conditions, overall system recognition rate ≥98%. Statistically, manual intervention caused by recognition failures occurs for no more than 2 containers out of every 100.

11.LED supplementary lighting is equipped for night and low-light environments.

12.Total power consumption of the entire container code recognition system ≤800W.

13.Total container number recognition cycle: less than 1 second.

Working Principle of Automatic Container Code Recognition System

When container trucks travel into the gate lane, four pairs of infrared triggers installed on both sides detect the real-time position of containers. Based on the on/off status and timing sequence of triggers, the detection unit identifies container loading configurations: single short container, one long container or two short containers. It then triggers six cameras (all fitted with supplementary fill-in lights) mounted around the lane to capture snapshots at preset timings.

Separate capture modes apply to different loading types: the short-container mode generates four images, while the mode for one long container or twin short containers generates six images. Captured image data is transmitted in real time to an industrial control computer for processing. The built-in OCR module extracts container codes, which are then sent over the network to the control room for customs supervision and access by other management systems.

The whole workflow runs automatically round-the-clock without manual operation. Manual correction is available for misrecognized data; all manual modification records including operator information and timestamp are permanently logged and non-editable within the system.

Fine-tuning of camera mounting position, lens parameters and LED supplementary lighting enables the system to achieve an overall recognition accuracy above 98%. Such high recognition performance largely relies on mature and reliable on-site installation & commissioning techniques, forming our core competitive advantage.
